TFPI2 (Tissue Factor Pathway Inhibitor 2): TFPI2 is a biomarker that indicates the activity of a key regulator in the coagulation system. TFPI2 acts as a potent inhibitor of the tissue factor (TF)-mediated blood coagulation pathway, helping to maintain haemostatic balance by preventing excessive clotting and modulating fibrinolysis. Present in the extracellular matrix (ECM), TFPI2 also supports cell migration, proliferation, and angiogenesis, facilitating tissue repair and remodelling. Abnormal TFPI2 expression has been associated with various pathological conditions, including cancer, where it may serve as a tumour suppressor.
